Sparkfun Optical Odometry Sensor Testing
Our software team worked with Dryw from sparkfun to provide testing data for their new optical odometry sensor. The sensor works similar to a computer mouse, reading the tiles and providing data over i2c. The sensor does all the calculations with it's on board microcontroller so it's really simple to control and gets an accuracy of 3-5%. It costs only $79.95, and is much smaller than traditional odometry pods, making placement much easier in complex robot designs. Check out the sensor here!
